These pumpkin squares are absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS, and they're so easy to make. Just grab some pumpkin pureé and a box of yellow or vanilla cake mix and get ready to be wowed.

Ingredients

1 12oz. cans evaporated milk
3 eggs
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
¹⁄₂ tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 29oz. can pure pumpkin pureé ((Not pumpkin pie filling))
1 box yellow or vanilla cake mix
³⁄₄ cup butter
1 cup chopped pecans or sliced almonds

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350º

In large bowl, mix together evaporated milk, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, salt, sugar and pumpkin pureé until smooth. Pour pumpkin mixture into a 9x13" baking dish. Pour dry cake mix on top of pumpkin mixture as evenly as possible, ensuring that all of it is covered. Either melt the butter and pour it on top, OR cut butter into small pieces and lay them on top, spreading them out as evenly as possible across the surface of baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Return to oven and bake an additional 25 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
