Hi friends.
Welcome to the Marcy Inspired website, where I cook with a pinch of faith. You’re probably here because you’ve seen my cooking videos on YouTube and you want a printable copy of a recipe. For that, I am thankful. I am always honored when someone wants to give my recipes a try.
So long as you’re here, I thought I’d share a little about Marcy Inspired. First of all, “Inspired” is not my last name. It’s how I live my life. I’m inspired, mostly by God’s goodness. He gives each of us unique skills and abilities, and if I can use what He’s given me to bless others, that brings me great joy.
You already know I love to cook. I get that from my mom. When I was a kid, she taught nutrition. Part of her job included visiting homes in underserved communities of southern New Mexico, where she taught women how to cook nutritious meals on a budget. Being the youngest of her five kids, often she took me along, and it definitely made an impression. I learned that, when people say they can’t cook, the only thing they’re missing is encouragement. I’m certain that’s why I love sharing my recipes and cooking tips with others today.
What you may not know about me is that, for more than 25 years, I was a TV news anchor and reporter. My career took me away from my home in New Mexico, as I worked in Texas, California, and later Arizona. I no longer work in TV, but when I started the Marcy Inspired channel on YouTube, it was a natural extension of what I’ve always done. The only difference… instead of sharing the news of the day, I could share the things I truly love, and I could do it out of my home. An even greater advantage is the fact, I’m married to Tony. He, too has worked in the television industry for three decades, and he’s one of the most talented photographers out there. With him behind the camera shooting and editing, we could put out high quality videos. It’s a match made in heaven…both me and him, and what we do.
Marcy Inspired was launched in the summer of 2020, when we were told to “shelter in place” because of Covid. But before that, I had another YouTube channel where I shared a different passion of mine….painting. It was called “Murals by Marcy.” If you’re ever bored and want to see some of my artwork and DIY projects, just click the “Inspired DIYs” tab above. I don’t have as much time to dedicate to that anymore, now that Marcy Inspired is growing, but I’m so thankful for where I am now. I have a supportive husband, a precious daughter, and I’m back home in New Mexico surrounded by family and the best chile in the world! I also have so many new friends all because I started sharing my recipes. God has been so good to me.
Thanks so much for visiting.
