These Homemade Meatballs in Marinara Sauce are so delicious, you may decide to skip the pasta and have them on their own! They're made with a combination of ground beef & Italian sausage, and they're loaded with fresh herbs and other yummy ingredients, then topped with mozzarella cheese!

  1. To make these homemade meatballs in marinara sauce

    In a large bowl, place hamburger meat, Italian sausage, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, egg, sage, rosemary, basil, salt and pepper and mix well until all ingredients are fully combined. Form meat mixture into 2-inch balls. Heat large skillet over stove. Coat bottom lightly with olive oil and brown meatballs on all sides until fully cooked. Pour marinara sauce over meatballs, lower heat and let simmer approx. 5-10 minutes. If desired, cover each meatball with a slice of mozzarella cheese and cover until melted. Garnish with additional basil or parsley. Remove from stove and enjoy on their own, with your favorite pasta, or in a meatball sandwich.
