If you have a boring hallway, a Family Tree Mural may be just the thing to breath new life into it. That was certainly the case in my house. I recently repainted and moved some things around, and in so doing, was reminded of how my hallway lacked luster. So, before I tacked my photos back onto the plain wall, I went online, and found the inspiration for this swirly, whimsical tree mural.
Take a look at my hallway Before and you’ll see why I was so desperate to do something:
Then check out the amazing work of artist Michelle Mayden by clicking this link: http://creativelivingchicks.blogspot.com/2014/02/family-tree-mural.html. I LOVED her mural, and since Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I free-handed my own version of it, using a darker shade of gray on my light gray walls.
Because I kept it simple, this family tree mural took no time at all. And I was ready to start hanging photos as soon as it dried. I thought about spray painting all my miss-matched frames black, so they would match, but then I really liked the fact that they were all different, so I left them alone. I scattered the family photos around the branches, stepped back and took it all in with a smile. The love of a family really is life’s greatest blessing, and now that their photos are placed on this Family Tree Mural, they’ll know how much I cherish them.
That looks awesome and so original..Love the simplicity of it all. Outstanding work!
Thank you, Dusty! Although, I got the idea from someone else. The original mural is way more impressive!
Wow! That came out perfect! Wish you could do our home.
Thanks, Sally. I would love to. Your house is always so beautiful.
